a bit like you, i bought a 05 model 2500 with 42K

old man owned it, he passed away and his daughter sold it.

guess you take a change on a vehicle that old with low miles.

mine has been a great truck, good mpg, i had all the fluids changed due to age

also, next thing to go will be the batteries, but so far they work fine.

I was a bit worried about buying one that age with low miles, but mine worked out fine, so far its been a great truck.

can you take to a service center and have it checked out,

mine is a two drive, so the price was much lower,

only thing is see is check around on that price, seems a bit high to me, but i am an old tight wad with plenty of time to check the internet for trucks.

i have been pleased with my purchase,
04-06 had the HO engine, 325hp with 660 # of torque few of the environmental add on's.

buddy of mine bought an 08 model new, in a few months it was so clogged up it would not pull itself out of the driveway, dealership had to come and get it.

he traded it for an older model and is very happy with it.

I have looked around online and the price seems to line up with the features and some of the upgrades it has. The low mile and the 5.9L are what makes the price so high though, I just havnt seen anything remotely close on miles and the great shape. I will try to post a picture up here later

I bought an 06 red mega cab3500. cummins ,4x4, 6sp trans, 315's,factory flatbead w/48222 miles for 800.00 bucks. It was smokin a little and hard to start, dodge said the engine was dusted would not honor warranty. Have to hone cylinders. I THINK I STOLE IT let me know what you think.

Hard to say, depends on how bad the engine is... 800$ is hard to argue with though. I'm certain the parts on a truck like that are worth more that that.

What are your plans with it? Fix it up, or see how far into the ground you can drive it?!

Lets see some pics!

I'm planning on fixing the engine, the Dodge dealer did'nt send the injectors with the truck so I had to go back to get them, the service manager scrounged around and found six laying on the work benches and gave to me, he said they were good, but probably not. I have a 96 12 valve I thought about putting in it but everyone says it would be too complicated. I have to go back out to New Mexico to get the truck, left it with a friend when I moved back to Florida.
