Default Crankcase vent smoking

Hey guys new to the site. Just wondering if anyone has any insight. My 2007 5.9l is smoking from the crankcase vent light white smoke and smells terible. I pulled of filler cap and it's smoking inside the valve cover. Is it beneficial to flush the oil system? (back to back to back oil changes) or do I have bad rings? Anyone experience this? Please inform and thanks in advance.

I hate to say it, but that sounds like burned-up bearings. That's exactly what I saw and smelled when I burned up an International 392 that had run out of oil; smelly, white smoke. How does the engine sound, and was it low on oil?

Getting pressure past the rings into the crankcase it seems. How many miles on it?

Smelly white smoke doesn't sound like your basic blow-by.

It runs great. Burns a bit of oil but not a ton. I just had the turbo replaced. I pull a 20 ft enclosed trailer all day but it does it regardless of towing and normal driving. It's a faint white smoke and same when I unscrew the oil filler cap. What can anyone suggest? I was thinking just excess carbon buildup. Maybe do back to back to back oil changes. Any thoughts?

Oh and it has 165,000 kms on the motor. I've never run it dry or hot but I bought it used so who knows what happened before I owned it. In terms of the turbo, it was replaced due to failing waste gate if that has anything to do with it.

If you're not hearing any bearing noise, and your oil pressure is good, you're probably OK. As you probably know, worn bearings can reduce oil pressure. You could do an oil flush, like add a cleanser like Seafoam or whatever to the oil, run it a while (maybe 50 miles or so), and change it. You might want to go to synthetic, since I think it does a slightly better job of keeping an engine clean.

No noise. (loud motor though) oil pressure is exactly where it should be. Rises with throttle. Anyways it runs great too lots of power. Ive heard other guys with similar problems. Perhaps I'll do a compression test. But I will switch to synthetic cant hurt. Thanks. Any more info if anyone has is appreciated
