Default A/C Acting Funny

So, yesterday we hooked the horse trailer up and plugged it in to the truck. We got in to leave and the radio wasn't very loud, and I turned it up all the way still was just low. I did the turn it off and turn it back on trick, and it went back to working properly. Then the husband tried to turn the a/c up, and it wouldn't blow hard at all even with the **** turned all the way up. It still blows cold, but not very hard. It would go in and out. We come to a stop sign, and the husband turns the truck off and turns it back on. It didn't do any good. Next, we get to a store and he unplugs the trailer. It goes to working again sort of. Anyways, we get to our friend's house; and he looks at the fuses. The a/c one seemed to have come out some. It goes to back to working right. Well, this afternoon on my way home from work. It starts going in and out again along with making a growling noise.
I called the Dodge place, but they can't get us in until June 13th. What do y'all think is going on? Is it something electrical?

What's growling? Something in the cab, (blower fan) or something under the hood? (compressor....)

Honestly, I have no clue. I hear it sitting in the truck from behind the dash. It doesn't do it all the time either. Also when you first crank it, it blows really well then when it actually starts cooling it doesn't blow hard. I'mnot even sure if that makes sense. I do know it's gonna get hot here in Louisiana, and I can't deal with no a/c lol.

What year is your truck? I know there were some issues with the doors in the heater box on some, and that actually sounds like it matches your problem. (not the growling though..... need to isolate where that is coming from.)

Any other dealers nearby? I would much rather pay a 100 dollar deductible, than the full cost of repairs......

There'sa couple others kinda close, and you're right. It just happened yesterday, and I called the one closest to where I work thinking I could get it in today lol. One of the dealers you avoid, so I'm gonna call around.

Hi Patsy,

When you go into the dealer, if you need an additional layer of assistance, don't hesitate to send us a direct message.
