'05 2500 vibration
have a new '05 2500 4x4 at 60-70 miles per. there is a vibration,,, dealer already rebuilt diff, ujoints feel ok, but vibration will put you to sleep. these are normal driveing speeds any idea???????
if they did not do this, have them re ballance the drive shafts. this is common to about 1 out of 5 trucks I have read about. if that doesnt do it your tire ballance might need to be checked again. and last, Ive only seen this once, but the actual rims were bent.
Drew do you know anything about the 2005 moaning sounds that occur when cold, doesn't happen on the acceleration just when you let off the gas and its only between 10-20mph.....It seems to be coming from rearend smoewhere but can't pin it down. Any info would be apprecaited....Thanks...Jason
I havent heard anything like that. I know when I'm in first mine will make a windeing noise from the gears spinning in the tranny, but doesnt do it in any other gear. it might also be that I dont use 1st that much.
OK ,dealer called this morning,, they are going to replace the entire Differential assembly,, in hte new year, so stay tuned!!

Front end or rear end? If you have the ability pull the rear prop shaft off, and drive it in 4x4 front. Does it still have vibration? Out of balance prop shaft will cause vibration. The prop shaft is balanced from the supplier, and marked with balance indicators at the transmission and the axles. Mark both the axle and the prop shaft so you can match up again when you put it back on. Rear prop shafts have a slip yoke at the transmission, and four screws at the axle, the front prop has four screws at both xfer case and front axle.
OK, truck now has a brand new diff in it a 373 anti spin, diff grinding out of the way (I hope) there is still a vibration sounds like the same area 'fills the cab' puts you to sleep moan in two wheel drive or 4 at 65mph and higher,, Cummins don't vibrate do they?
