Column shifter removal
2005 3500. I’m swapping columns for this truck and have everything apart besides the shifter linkage. Where is the best place to seperate it at? Does it just pry off?

I would think at the base of the column, not the lever itself.

Why are you changing the column?
No idea how those come off.... this is where the service manual would come in handy.

there is play in it. I can turn the wheel without the output shaft that meets with the u joint moving.

Can you disconnect the shift cable from the other end, and just take it out with the column?

I can try but the new column doesnt come with a cable. So it will have to come off either way to swap to the new one
