RE: Fuel Mileage
I get about 20 to 21 mpg on my 01 2500 4x4 Quad cab Auto. I have the edge comp, electric fan, Drop in filter, oil cooler(with the relocate filters), 4" exhaust, 2000 ft.lbs tq. converter, with the larger valve body,4.10 rear end, tire size 305/75/17. I haven't got the odometer adjusted for the tires size, so I should be 1 more mpg to the good.
I recently had some oil lines fail on me,(oil cooler kit came with oil resistance hoses not steel braided)so my engine has to have a new crank kit installed. Iam getting the head studded and O ringed. I thinking of getting a 3.55 rear end. Is there something else I can do to improve thempgs, while the engine is out?

RE: Fuel Mileage
HI new to dodge and looking forward to a great experiance. Was a ford man but now will give dodge a try. I bought a 04 3500 Q cab 4x4 short box deisel. I have a ton of questions but will stick to the topic at hand. I haul a 16' trailer everyday for work and I end up getting about 12.3MPG. I would love to knock it down a little with upgrades that won't affect the remaining warantee. Any suggestions. If this is in the wrong fourum please let me know.
Thanks

RE: Fuel Mileage
Well, I just did a missions trip in Mexico. Since I live in Colorado, I wanted to see how she fared.
Loaded her8' bed upwith a topper. So, enough tools and clothing to handle 27 teenagers (And a few adults). Around 1500-2000 lbs. Had me (driver) and 2 passengers.
From Colorado Springs to Phoenix (853 miles): 17.0 mpg
From Colorado Springs to Mexico border at Tecate (1120 miles): 16.0 mpg ... Running through those mountains really showed what she's made of. Took the OD off for about 20 miles. Oh, and the AC running too...
From Colorado Springs to Coming back from Mexico, at the US border (no idea how many miles, but we made it across!!!): 12.8 mpg. Those roads suck... well, it's akin to off roading... which is the way I took it. [8D]
From Colorado Springs back to Colorado Springs (2396 miles): 15.6 mpg
Now, in town in Colorado Springs, I can't seem to get over 14.1 mpg, and most times it's 13.2-13.5 [:@]

RE: Fuel Mileage
i am new to this forum and this will be my first question...i have a 05 2500 ctd 4x4 long box with 4 doors. its got the 4:10 in it and thats it other than the straight pipes i just installed yesterday. the trucks got 16k miles on it and i bought it with 12k. my mph has not changed since ive had it and im getting 11-12.5 in the city hand calculated, and about 13-13.5 unloaded on the freeway. air filter is brand new and i do not drive it like i stole it....anyone tell me what i could do for better mpg?
