Fuel Mileage
Figured I'd go ahead and fill this out.
94 250 7.3 idi

stock everything {but I am having the muffler cutout, hopefully Mon. or Tues.}
The best I've gotten is 20.8 mpg {this week } Not running over 60/2000 rpm....... it was hard
The worst was 17.5 when I drove to OK City to get the ranch hand {2500 rpm 70-75}
All hand done, no fancy computern
Only have had it less than a month so not sure of its avg. yet.

I drove my truck probably a little over 100 miles on the interstate today, I-485 around Charlotte, NC. Probably averaged close to 30 mpg, running between 60 and 70 mph. I know that sounds high, but I have the instant mileage feature in my overhead console and it was ranging between 23-37 mpg depending on hills and passing Powerchokes in my way. I have Kleen Diesel and MMO in my door pocket waiting on my next fill up. The avg mpg is showing 17.5. That's on about 525 miles, half of it towing 16' trailer and mower and almost all of it is local/city except for today.
Added the diablosport power puck,mpg is about the same for short distances but on freeway speeds of over 65mph (which is what i drive most)it has stayed steady at21.7 this is by hand calculations, I drive over 100 miles a day to and from work, all freeway miles. The power puck has 3 settings, stock, tow/economy, and performance, I have kept it on the tow setting and there is a very noticable increase in power and response, i'm sure the performance setting would lower my mpg's considerably also i have tried to by light on the "go" pedal i'm sure that helps too. Also before i added the power puck at speeds over 70 my mpg's would drop noticably (trucks computer) now it seems to stay the same....2007 dodge 2500, 5.9, 4x4, 6speed, long bed, S&B cold air intake, AFE thru flow muffler, Diablosport power puck, tonneaue cover, stock tires/wheels.
I have it all ranged out.
2003 Dodge Cummins 4x4 3.73 Gear Ratio, NV5600 (6 Speed manual), Stock Intake, Silencer ring removed, Catalytic Converter removed (bought that way), 3 1/2 Pipe- 4' Monster exhaust muffler - stock 4' Drop pipe (kinda poor had to weld it all together, looks good and thinking about straight piping it). I bought it with a flatbed. It's Long box, Crew Cab. I think that about covers it. 25-35mph (downtown city driving) I get about 30 (**** you not). 45-55 I get around 25-28 depending on traffic condtions and weather and that's mostly on flat ground of course. Then 65 I get around 19-22, Then 75 I get about 16-18 and anything over that I get like 12-14. That's all empty too. As far as additives go, I usually record mileage after 2 tanks, 1 additive and 1 tank of regular diesel. Then I record my mileage.

In Trailer Boat mag. (Aug. 2007) they did a test on a 2007 2500 CTD Mega Cab 4WD, 3.73 gears while towing a 26' Searay boat.Their test result shows Overall nontowing MPG at12.7 andtowing at 8.8mpg. I have a 06 CTD2500 2WD and tow a 26' Formula, which I would say the weight is close, and get around 17mpg highway 12.5 towing. Last month I towedour boat to Seattle from Ventura, Ca., 1300 miles. This month I bring it back after the Seafair Hydro boat races.
Is there really that much difference between the 5.9CTD's and the 6.7CTD's or are they feeding us the worst scenario?
