RE: Fuel Mileage
I am consistently getting just a bit over 19 mpg. I am happy about this as my truck is brand new and the mileage should get better. The overhead trip calculator ususally shows 17.1 to 17.9, but I calculate by hand and it consistenly comes out just about 19.1. I just now have 2000 miles logged.
I drive 125 per day (to work & back). Mostly Highway, some traffic, some city - no load.
2006 Quad Cab 2500 CTD, 4-speed auto transmission, 3.73, stock.

RE: Fuel Mileage
I finally got mine on the road. (3 weeks wait for the AST Trans and TQ.) My first trip here in the Central Valley was 286 miles round trip, about 90% on the 99 freeway, with 800lbs. in fuel and cargo. 20.1 MPG, Hand Calc. (computer inop.) I am really impressed that a heavy Ram 3500 Dualie truck would break 20 MPG. I was crusing at 70, with the Gear Vendor OverDrive engaged, @ 1,500 RPM.(Stock Tire Size, 3.54 Gears.) Note, I am running 16/8 OZ D-Brew.
I really like this truck. My only issue now, low idle speed, it idles @ 550 RPM in gear with AC on. Dies a lot. I will need to figure out how to adjust the idle. I can't find an idle adjustment, so it may be a bit complicated.

ralph, is your truck a 12 or 24 valve, lemme know and I'll see if I can help out on that idle issue.

Thanks for the offer, I was able to look up an Idle adjustment procedure for my 98 12 Valve this morning. Setting the Idle only took about 15 Minutes. I had to take off the Fuel Filter drain tube to get at the locking nut and adjusting nut with a 10mm box end. I now have the Idle set at 750 RPM on first startup of the day, with the Air Con. on, and the truck in drive. When the truck warms up, the idle is about 800 RPM. The engine starts MUCH EASIER. No throttle required, fires off in less than 1/2 sec. No more stalling when pulling up to a stop sign. Also, no more SCARING me when the idle drops below 400 RPM the Oil Pressure guage goes to "0", even when I catch it and keep it running, it takes 2 or 3 seconds for the oil pressure guage to register.

RE: Fuel Mileage
Im getting any where from 13 all the way to 15 but it just depends on how hard I drive it. Since I put my new exhaust on I am obsessed with the sound of my truck so I have alot heavier foot than I used to. I am running 35' tires now but whats funny is before I would average around 16 MPG so its kinda messed up to only loose a mile or so per gallon with that dramatic of a tire increase. I have some ideas on the way for my truck as soon as I get back home to include a direct intake hood and intake kit. Also considering a propane injection kit anyone have any pointers on what to look for?

RE: Fuel Mileage
Got the 2006 Mega Cab 4x4, 3.73, 4 speed auto. She's bone stock. between 70 & 73 mph I get 19.0 to 19.6 hand calc. In town driving I've been getting right at 15.5 to 16.0 hand calc. My overhead computer has never been right. usually right at about 1.75 mpg less than when i hand calc it.
