im thinking about lifting my 06 cummins either a 4 inch or so or just go all out and do a 6" i talked to a few people and they tell me not to and just put 33's on my truck they say they have had nothing but problems with there lifted trucks tie rods and such. im prob not gonna take it off roading ever i just want it for looks really but just wondering if you guys have had any problems thanks alot

anyway, the best lift money can buy is either going to be from Kore, or Kelderman. virtualy all the front end components are new, stronger, and more durable.

I will agree though, a leveling kit with 35's is a sweeet look, but so would a 4 inch w 37's

I've only looked into KORE's leveling kit so I cant say anything about Kelderman.

I have yet to find a local vendor so I called them staight up. They have some complete suspension systems as well (strictly Dodge) but as for the leveling kit this is what they said.

The Kore front end go's for about $500. This replaces the froint coil springs with taller ones (total of 2 - 2.5" lift) as well as new shocks (bilstein I think) and all the hardware (bump stops etc.)

THe leveling kit is on my "to do" list and the Chase System is at the top of my wish list!

BTW, I think they said the Chase System was around 2K so looks and performace if and when you needed it.

awesome thanks alot im not sure what i want to do quit yet im kinda leaning towards just a leveling kit but ive never had a lifted truck yet and i got a little extra cash at the moment and i know if i dont do it now i wont ever do it . but every one i talk to with a lifted truck says they wouldnt do it ever again casue it just rips there truck up, tie rods and stuff but im not sure what i will end up doing thanks again

 

another thing you need to watch when putting larger meat on the road are your ball joints, they are already weak to start with and I can feel mine are begining to wear a little bit.

 

It depends on what you're going to use your truck for. Presumably, since you got a diesel, you intend to tow with it at some point, as I do. So, looking at lifts you have to balance not wanting to hurt towing, while achieving the look or offroad functionality you want. Based on that type of logic, I settled on 35" tires for mine and I had them put 4.10's in it when they built it. So, then "how much lift" was just a question of what was needed to clear 35's. A leveling kit turns out to be perfect, so I called and ordered one from KORE (the Chase system).

I upgraded to the Bilstein 7100 series shocks because I do and will use my truck offroad (I've been known to jump sand dunes on more than one occasion). I can say I was very impressed both with the people at KORE, and with the extremely high quality and fit of the parts. The only downside - for me - to the KORE kit was cost, it was more expensive than any other lift/leveling kit I found. But, since I plan to own this truck for 15 years or so, I figured the investment was well worth it.
