Thanks Drew! I found the sign you was talking about. You have been more help then my dealer ever was. How would I get ahold of the Dodge rep. to conplain about this, also is there any other lube points I need to know about? This make me real mad,[:@] I try to take good care of the truck. It said to use MS6560 Lithium grease, Part# 05083150AA. Is this the best to use? Thanks again!! Gametrail

however I did find two more on my truck this weekend while servicing my axels and tranny. on the bottom steering joint there is a zerks fitting at the nuckle. look for it and you'll see it. I might need to hit mine.

 

that would be a total of three grease fittings on the '06 4X4's. Correct? and thanks for the pic.

My first Diesel pu (new) 06 2500 QC 4x4 auto tran long bed w/Jacob exh. brake edge EZ true flow intake, turbo bac 4" flowmaster, running w/acetone Just wanted to say I tried to grease that little hole with no secess except to get grease all over. So I took my tube bender female piece and laid grease nozzle tip in it and hit it a few times with small brass hammer, that put just the right curve in it to let me get grease in and around the u-joint much easier. thanks agin

 

hey ride. . .STOP USEING ACETONE IN YOUR FUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you WILL damage the pump and injectors, the acetone actualy disolves the lubrication making the fuel VERY dry. the pump gears in the CP3 and the injectors seats will wear premeturely and if the shop does some searching as to why your having new injectors and CP3 installed and it comes down that you have acetone in the fuel they WILL void your warranty.

 

That Napa needle grease fitting was a bit long so I modified it by removing the springed nipple and and attaching a short 1/8 inch nipple and an 1/8 inch 90 degree elbow and then connecting the springed nipple to the female end of the 90 degree. This allows me to utilize the zerk holding cover and having a shorter length to work around the cross over that was engineered into the design by some idiot engineer who probably has never had grease on his hands in his lifetime! All engineers should be required to perform maintenance work on their own designs to comprehend what is required in the real world to maintain and repair the equipment. Working as a hydro electric power plant mechanic I constantly run into to situations where I wonder where that engineers head was when he or she came up with that idea to construct that particular piece of equipment in that manner. Whew, I feel better now.

The trouble I'm having is getting grease to actually go into the fitting. It seems no matter what angle I try, or how much pressure I use to hold the needle in place, I just end up with grease all over the place. [:@]

I don't really follow your explaination above. Can you post a picture of the elbow and fittings you assembled?

ok.. rear yoke on front driveline, bottom steering joint.. where's is the third one??
