ORIGINAL: Drew

lubes, I'm not real sure on which one it the best. . .

however I did find two more on my truck this weekend while servicing my axels and tranny. on the bottom steering joint there is a zerks fitting at the nuckle. look for it and you'll see it. I might need to hit mine.
Hey Drew........Merci Boucoux ( I think that's what they say here in Cajun Land ) for the thread here on the grease fittings. It would have taken me till the end of time itself to find that little *****! Anyhows, it's done, along with the wheel, ball joints. Question for ya..........To grease the fitting at the bottom of the steering shaft, I find that there isn't hardly any room for a standard grease gun fitting. Did you dissassemble the small u-joint to hit it, or is there a aftermarket 90 degree fitting to slip over the gun's fitting? Thanks again for all you do here buddy, everyone appreciates it.

How often should I do grease this joint, Or would I be better off to install manual locking hubs since I rack up a lot of hwy miles.

The sticker under the hood says every oil change on my 07, I think the manual says every 4000 to 5000 miles.

I would like to convert to manual hubs, but probably won't till I need new front bearings. The kits are rather pricey.

My 06 shows for sever service every 3750 miles, I think if you use good synthetic grease that you would be good for 7,000K. I've read about some that had not been greased in over 25K with out any problems showing up but I sure would not want to go that long.

And it doesn't take more than one or two good pumps either (No smart-assed remarks please). Anything more will just seep out and get flung on the under carriage.

Thanks for the pic. I looked and looked for a zerk on my 2007 Ram and was convinced the sticker saying to grease the joint was an error. INEVER would have found it. No idea it was a needle point fitting. Thanks man!

Let me know how it works for you. Has anybody else tried the injector needle? Any Feedback or comments?
Do they have that one at NAPA? or any other store? (hate online shopping)

I can't find this freakin thing!!!...I've looked, rotated the shaft...and about stood on my head to try to find this fitting. It's a newer truck and it does have the sticker under the hood to lube this point....what the heck? Any other tricks to find this thing...although you guys have pointed it out in black and white here. thanks all.
