shouldnt be bad... just wiring that goes up the pillar and over to the gauges...
I found this one which is the one i'm going to go with... I prefer to keep anything above the window line looking stock...

nope, that's it... goes where the "sunglass holder" is... I have my dash torn apart right now for a stereo fix and the pieces bolts right in. the biggest task there is wiring up the guages thru the firewall...
I have an e-mail into autometer... I will give them till monday or tuesday, then my order is going in [sm=icon_rock.gif] I think it will work.

I dunno .. I just can't picture it all the way around. Like ... what does it look like from behind ( from the outside looking in ) ? What about from the side? Do you see the side of the gauges or do they sit in some sort of bucket ( cup )? How do you bolt it up ... To the headliner?
I guess I'd just hafta see it better to understand. I just can't picture it probably because I have that big computer / dome light thing up in mine.

that link didnt work for me... the autometer rep got back to me (i was supprised to say the least... most of the time they dont answer) and mentioned that the bezel we're talking about does indeed go below the a/c controls. it also most likely just bolts in. I had my dash apart at lunch today to fix my stereo mount (busted it) and had a look behind the bezel...looks like the sunglass thing just un-bolts and out it comes. 2 screws IIRC was all there was. I also asked the rep for the p/n's so I can order thru Summit. I'm thinking black face guages to keep things balanced. white might look funny down there...what do you think?
OK, now i'm excited... comparing the overhead one with the dash mount... I like the dash/bezel mount more and more, keeps everything low and mostly out of sight.

well in a few weeks I'll post a pic when i'm done. I'm building up a parts list for my summit order since there is no tax and shipping is only $9 bux... so far I have the bezel, 3 gauges and a fluid transfer pump. there is some other stuff I need but cant remember while i'm at work.

It does look cool. My only concern would be the length of the wiring that comes with the gauges. I know my Autometer Cobalts would probably NOT have enough wire to reach that far. Maybe the boost gauge if you mounted the MAP sensor up inside the top of the dash. My tranny temp gauge barely made it to the middle of my dash. The voltmeter obviously would work. The EGT temperature probe wouldn't make it.
It was wire length that made me go with a dash top mount set up. The overhead is cool though. I just don't like taking my eyes off the road when the soot is flyin.....LOL
