Diesel Rollcall...
hi my name is jan, i just bought a 2003, 3500,2wd,single axle 5.9 ctd, 5sp, quad cab kick butt truck (at least for me
). iLOVE it. ipull a 4 horse gooseneck trailer with LQsandthis truck handles it like its notthere, even loaded with horses and water....and the best thing is 14.3 MPG doing 70 with AC on!!!!!! woohoooo....i went to this truck from a ford f250 460 gas engine and i was getting a whopping 7 with a tail wind, downhill and the catalytic converter punched out!!! so i'm lovin this fuel mileage donchya know! i found this site while surfing for info on the all the things i should be doing for a diesel since i'm not familiar with them. this site is very informative and i appreciate the warm welcomes.

Dave is the name, not a heavy contributor (once added, to one thread,my thoughts on good oil filters... "Wix")
- I tend to use the forum heavily for research to help me care for my unit, I'm not knowledgable enough to have any unique new learnings to add.
UNIT:
2006 CTD
3500, 4X4, MegaCab SLE
6 Speed Manual Tranny... This choice was, in my opinion, brilliant (mildly tedious in daily rush hour commutes)
Pull a 3 horse gooseneck as though it were nothing. Highly recommend the frame mounted, under box hitch.
When I spin it off and put the flushmount cap in, the whole box is mine again. Also prodigy trailer brake with
sensors for up/down hill slope, speed, brake force, etc. It's like having someone driving the brakes on the trailer
for me while I concentrate on driving the truck. Horses appreciate the greatly reduced pitching force compared to old brake
controller.
Calgary, Alberta, Canada Region
Bit of an animal... kinda cruise my commute on the highway at the 160 KPH(100 MPH) mark (damn that tach has a low redline!?)
Change oil every 3000KM just to be as safe as I can, do that stupid needle point grease job with oil changes too (whatzit... double hindman?).
I've drained and replaced both axle fluids, tranny and transfer case twice in the year and do the fuel filter quarterly.
- Only sissy mods so far... LineX in the box and over the top edges (Proven to be a great choice),
blue rear window tint, truck color match (yeah, I made wrinkles, but it still works greatversus clear glass)
I'm at 56,000KM in one year and have a few minor "experience marks" so just hit the point where I feel okay to
start into mods slowly... (I have a lifted '91 K5 Blazer on Mickey Thompson Claws... wife calls it the money-pit),
so altering the new, expensive family truck is a sensitive topic.
I've run the OEM BFG Rugged Trails down (finally!... nice on pavement but tiny and useless in mud)
Replacing next month with BFG All Terrain TA KOs, 'E', 33X12.5X17. Suspect this implies a 2" front level
also needed or else wheel spacers... maybe 1 inch... leveler maybe better. Then I'll add some fender flares and stop for a bit.
I'm born and raised a chevy guy but the CTD was better to me than the Duramax, and the MegaCab is a wonder unequalled,
the fact that the truck is good overall otherwise is a great bonus, I love driving it! Only two real disappointments...
1. Paint... soooooo thin, one year and 56000KM and the lower quarter looks like 5 years of gravel rash! (LineX rather than repaint I think)
2. That tranny, works well, but is "vague" and the gates get mildly roughish over time. Does not match the Blazer's old SM465 with
250000KM under its belt, smooth gates, distinct "findability".
Although the Dodge bull-low, plus 5 is nice compared to the Blazer bull-low plus 3. SM465 low is still ultimate OEM "granny" low though.
Dave. (damn... sorry, that really got long-winded now that I review it.)

The name is Chris and the truck is a 2004 blk qc laramie CTD. Ive had it since February now and the only mods so far is strait pipe exhaust(really frickin loud) a mopar soft bed cover, linex bed liner, and a new set of rear tires cause i smoked the othe ones off.
Ok, so I know I am going to get "flamed" in here, but a good friend of mine (lilfroger) visits here often and she is always sending me links to here, to read some of y'all's hilarious posts. So, here I am!
~she dared me to register ~ I WIN!
Yes, I own a Chevy. OMG - I can feel the heat already!

Hey all,
they call me KW, sounds sorta southern I suppose, well here is what I nicknamed "Ducked Determination"
She is a 1993 D-350 LE, intercooled from factory, in fact she is as stock for now, I am looking to get her wound up from now till spring 2008 for the Drag n Brag series at Atlanta motor Speedway, and for various other tracks in GA and surrounds.
If I can get all things done that I want, at least she will stand with the rest.
Will be reading, looking, and asking for a WHOLE heap of ideas and thoughts on her build...

First off, Thanks to all the moderators and contributors for their advice. Having been a Cummins fanatic for almost as long as I can drive, this is a great place for me to see what others are doing to their trucks. This is my first post here, and look forward to figuring out how to post pictures/signatures in the future.
Hey guys,
Welcome to DF... if you have any questions on posting pics or links, let me know and I can help. shoot me a pm and I'll get you going in the right direction.
