5500 sound like its time for an oil change and a new fuel filter. As steve said winter diesel is now in the area. Try a few more tanks before you give it up. I didn't see a big mileage increase until the 3rd or 4th tank. Even if I didn't get the mileage, I still would be using for the lube because vp44's are expensive. Also seems to cut down on some of the rattling under the hood. Knocked a couple hamsters off the wheel

I've been using Drews mix for several months and also noted about a 1 mpg drop. Fresh oil, filter, no other changes.

Regards, Glenn

I don't know much about the mileage improvement because I am to lazy to caculate it. I can tell you that it sure makes the engine run smoother. My friend has the virtually the same truck as I do and when I pull up next to his you can really here the difference in the sound of our engines.

this talk of the winter blend fuel... if I switched to the grey bottle would it make a difference? I've been using the white for the most part as I never really saw a difference between the two. now with the winter crap here I'm wondering if it'll make any difference.

On the grey bottle it claims to boot the Centane higher then the white does so give it a try and find out! Nothing to lose but something to gain if you try the grey bottle.
