Pics of my pole !!!
Ahhh Haa ... I knew you'd look you dirty ole .....
anyway ....
Here are the pics of the heater cord extension cord pole that I made over the weekend. I used to just run the cord out of the garage to the truck, but when it gets REALLY cold, the cord get's stiff and when it snows the cord becomes buried. I almost pulled away twice with the truck plugged in. But no more !! NOW I have the cord all tied up to a pole that swings right out in front of my Ram, and I've painted it red so that I CAN'T miss the thing. It'll never get burried, and if by some fluke it SHOULD, well, I won't be driving in snow that deep anyway. LOL !! Also I've taken a pic or two of the timer. I plugged an adapter into it so that I could also plug a red nightlite into it so that I could see if the timer ( heater ) was on or off.
Here ya go ...

RE: Pics of my pole !!!
pretty swanky setup there. I am probably going to run a cord from the block heater plug, through the hole in the bottom of the bed to a swivel mount by the front drivers side stake pocket. Will probably use a self retracting cord reel in the roof of the garage too. Should look pretty cool.

RE: Pics of my pole !!!
I thought about adding an extension cord to the actual heater plug cord, but it was cold out and I didn't feel like messing with it. Probably next summer I'll do something similar where the plug comes out of the rear instead of the front. I'm thinking about using another trailer light cover with the door on it only instead of having the trailer wire in there I'd have the heater cord wire in there. Open the door and WA-LA there it is, instead of the cord cover that is on there now.

RE: Pics of my pole !!!
Thanks guy's !!
Yeah, it's working out pretty good. Also, having the block heater plugged in DID seem to make a difference. The wait to start light is only on for a second unlike how it normally would be which is about 15-20 seconds. The truck didn't seem any warmer though which I though was weird, but it DID seem to warm up quickly.
Does anyone see a problem with plugging my truck in at that angle?
Is the heater covered?

Nice setup. I ran a 10 gauge extention cord from a triple tap in the front, all the way to the rear and installed a Hubbell box. I back up everywhere I go. Home, work, family, etc. Even the PA. bar that I drink at let's me use their outdoor circuit to keep my baby warm.
This is the exciting time when you start fabricating little "convienences" for your truck....LOL.
Nice job. Here's my "lazy man" special....lol.
Peace bro.
