HELP!!!
I need serious help. I've been looking at trucks and the third generation dodge cummins is turning me away from dodge. I heard one start up today and it sounded like a gasser!![:@]help!!!!!!!!! i'm being drawn to the dark side (ford, gm)
wow all the gm chevys and fords i hear are quieter than dodge so i have no idea what ur talking about. I was standing next to a chevy the other day at the atm waiting to get money and the wind was blowin and if not for the duramax badge i wouldnt have been able to tell it was wayyyy to quiet
So ur willing to go to ford and gm because for five seconds or less when the engine starts the ford and gm sound more diesel while they are quiet as a gasser the rest of the time. While the dodge sounds like a true diesel everywhere else other than the startup?
shut upp you sarcastic a##!! fords dont sound like gassers. you must be thinking of duracraps.

I'll give u that fords sound better than the duramax's but still the cummins has the best diesel sound of them all. Also I've got a few mags laying around about the probs that ford has with there powerstroke diesel. From what i read they are burning up turbos after 30k or so miles because the engine is pushing the turbo too hard. Plus I know a guy using a powerstroke ford for a wrecker and he is selling it for a dodge because the ford has spent too much tiem in the shop. Also he is getting manifold leaks at only 20k miles ont he ticker.
Still though i can't get over going away from a brand of truck because of how they sound on start up. Considering how sick nasty they sound when they are going down the road

I guess I don't hear the problem with the way the Dodge sounds when it starts, I like it. I can tell you that I can't stand the way a Mustang's starter sounds, it sounds like a Ford Truck, so I guess we all have our pet peaves. I suggest you do the one thing that we all should do before putting down $30K+, go drive all three of them.
