Dogs are great. I cant wait to let Louie try out his live vest lol. One of the shorter hikes we did he got to go swimming in a sierra lake that was deeeep. he made it about 10' before he started to sink. lucky for me I had him in his harnes and on a long rope leash. that water is cold... burrr would have hated to have to jump in after him.

Im sorry to hear about your loss Mike, you will never lose the good memories. I miss the hell out of my lost dog, but the stories I could tell about him would keep me going all night!!! He was very protective of my kids, but was the biggest chicken...he got chased from our yard into our house by a baby squirel!

Sorry to hear about your loss it's amazing how they can really become one of the family not just a pet.
Our black lab is just over 2 years old and she loves to jump up into the cab onto the front seat and put her paws on the steering wheel, looking out the front window just like me.
It is still really cool to see them develope the same habits as there owners.
I 'm gonna take her for a ride now.
