Oil Bypass Install

RE: Oil Bypass Install
yeah maybe but we all know what magnets do... the question is... is it strong enough to hold the particles against the oil flow? their "independent tests" show it does work. the test was done with a 2 filter setup & the mag mounted on the 2nd inline filter. I happend to be looking at the Summit Racing catalog and they were mentioning the filtering level of some of the filters they sell... some are as high as 20 microns, and low as 10 microns (K&N was @ 10). my bypass setup is supposed to be good down to 2 microns. time will tell...
anyways... just thought i'd throw that link out there for someone who is concerened about any warranty issues... even though we know there would be none...
oops, forgot the link...

RE: Oil Bypass Install
I have heard of only 1 complaint of low oil pressure and the drop was about 5psi from what they could tell. I dont remember what system they used or how they installed it but I would think that the filter material would be dense enough to prevent a drop in pressure. I personally saw no drop in pressure.
To top it all off, i'm considering an oil primer or pre-luber setup to get oil pressure up prior to starting. from my understanding, most of the wear comes @ startup with the dry starts...

steve.. . .I was looking through your pics, and from the looks of it you have the filter mounted horizontal. . .I read in the instructions where it said not to.
guess I'll need to do a similar install as to yours though since I have the 110 filter. . .the 10 inch long monster as opposed to the 100 that you have(7 inches)
