Need Help
Need help…… I have a 2003 Dodge Ram QC that just after 70 MPH has a little vibration/shimmy. It seams to be coming from the rear of the truck, but not 100% positive.
We have changed the drive shaft (with brand new from DC), had the tires balanced and rotated. None of this has corrected the issue.
Please help, if anyone has experienced this or anything like this please post.

I too get a small vibration starting at about 65 mph. Just enough of a vibration to make the rear view mirror blurry. I did a small bit of research and this seems to be a fairly common problem. There are lots of stories of changing driveshafts, balancing wheels, etc without fixing the problem.
I have the 11.5" limited slip diff with 4.10 gears and the automatic tranny. The driveshaft is heavily corroded which worries me enough that I might just replace it for that reason. I wonder if the limited slip might be the case of the vibrations. Does your truck have limited slip?

EDIT: I answered when you didn't need it. I missed you were talking about changing wheels with the 06.
That just may tell you something.

I replaced the 04 wheels with polished chrome wheels from an 06, but didn't notice any improvement.
My truck is a 4x4 so there is also the possibility of something in the transfer case or front axle area.

I thought I was getting a vibration at Highway speeds, since my rear view would also blur some. I found the real problem was the tech who did the PDI, forgot to tighten the rear view to the window. Got a small Torx bit, tightened and problem went away.
