Default windows freezing.............

Hello All

Any ideas out there to eliminate your windows from freezing shut?? It has been happening to me the last week everyday. And i never notice untill I am in the drive through lane for my morning cup of java.

Any solutions to this?? Happening to anyone else???

thanks again

It'd be kinda messing but, you could line the rubber gasket with a light layer of grease or, some sort of lubricant that doesn't freeze. I haven't done this myself but, it would probably work.

At the risk of sounding a little bit to much like Mayfair. Move somewhere warmer. I don't think we were meant to live anywhere that we have to plug in our trucks at night.

WELL DONE Hilo !!!

I agree 100%, but of course that's easy foryou to say since you live ineffing HAWAII !!!!!

The only tip I can give you about your window would be to not roll it up all the way when you DO thaw it out. Crank it up, but not to the very top. It should come down easier next time.

If the truck is older, check the outer window seal (beltune, I think), and see if there are rust bubbles forming under the rubber. You can also check the end of the seal (door handle end) and see if the rust is forming "flakey layers". If there is rust, then water is getting down into the regulater and channel areas.

If the seals are good, hold the down button and pound the bejesus out of it........LOL. She'll pop.

Good luck with your ride.

I have a saying...."There is a fine line between hard and retard."

Hard is the guy that goes out in subzero temps, busts his butt all day to put food on the table for his family.

Retard is the guy that goes out in the cold all day because he thinks he's hard and thinks it impresses people.

Just my philosophy for the day. No insult intended.

Grease !? Gonna make windows awful hard to see outta!!
Use silicon spray on all the rubber around windows and door seals will keep em from dryin out, and not to mention won't gather dirt like grease will! As for frozen window... use an ice scraper or ifyoudon't have one, use a credit card and run it along thebottom of the exterior seal and between the window glass. Moisture runs down the window and will collect between the window and that bottom (wipper) seal, which turns to ice (when below freezing) thus "freezing" the window.
This works on my 05 not sure what year yours is?
