Default "NO BU5" Engine died

I have a problem with work van a 2002 Dodge 3500 van. It's been raining in cali for the past two weeks and I went through a wet spot (3" deep?). The engine died. When I turn on the ignition I have no gauges, the odometer comes on but in a few seconds it flashes on and of the goes to NO BU5. The tow truck came and it fired up for him making me look like a schmuck. The next time I tryed to start it, same thing. The next morning no more intermittent problem It's dead. Same No BU5 from the odometer. I also noticed no relays are clicking to do their jobs.

By the way what's an ASD relay and wheat does it do?
I need my van back it's my office and my job

The ASD (Auto Shut Down) relay supplies power to the coil, injectors, and fuel pump; just to name a few of the important ones.

A no bus message means a loss of communication between the odometer and the PCM. This could be the result of loose or broken wiring or a bad PCM.

Could my loss of power be caused by going throgh some water and getting the speed sensor or other sensor wet?

Not so much if the sensors get wet as the wiring to them. Water is conductive and if the 5 volt sensor power is getting grounded out by the water, then most things will not work until it dries out.

So if the O2 sensor, CPS or any thing sensor gets wet the ASD will take over and shut down my world?

I would check for moisture at the ECM connectors as well. Disconnect battery first.

Also look at any wired connections at the tranny. Dry, clean contacts an apply di-electric grease.

Not so much take over as de-energize. If the PCM ceases to receive input from the sensors, then the PCM thinks something is wrong and shuts down the relay.

This is not a good sign. Getting a "no bus" message along with not being able to read codes in 9 out of 10 cases means the computer is no good.

Could this be water related as I drove through like 2.5 to 3" of water? If so I should turn this van into a convertible and keep it for summer pleasures only.
