Posted the other day "03 van quit". A number of people have read, but no one has replied as yet.I'm stumped as to where to go next, although it seems like checking the timing chain will have to be done though I really didn,t want to tear down the front end. Any of you that has worked on a Ram van knows what I'm talking about.

Have you check the basic's, do you have fuel pressure and spark. And have you done a compression test on the engine? What were doing when the van quit? The best way to check the timing chain is to remove the dist cap and try to start the engine. Does the dist rotor rotate. If the rotor does not rotate, then is a good chance the timing has a problem.

 

The issue was resolved in the other thread. It was the ignition coil.

No you didn't. How were you supposed to know there were multiple threads to have to follow. This confusion is why we discourage <cough><cough> multiple threads for the same issue!

 

I am just seeing this myself. How am I supposed to know where the fix threads are? This is really stupid. Post a problem in one thread and the fix in another if they do post the fix. This is making me dizzy.

 

Look upon it as an opportunity to hone up on your keyword selection skills for performing accurate searches.

I need to spend a little more time here. This way I would see the multiple threads and try to fix them.
