Default New member with elec. problem

Hi to everyone

I have a 99 b1500 van with a 5.9. I bought this van cheap being that the last owner had hit a deer. Replaced all damaged parts. Bumper, grill, headlight, and brackets. This van is a conversion van with 90k in it. Have had numerous elec. problems. Have replaced pcm twice ( First rebuilt failed tranny wise) Now have replaced TPS, MAP, and crank sensors. Have checked as many grounds as possible. Most prooblems fixed now but sometimes it wont start and dont here fuel pump. I leave key on, unplug and replug in the fuel pump relay and it fires right up. This thing has drove me to drinking and i dont drink. Any help would be appreciated. Also I am a disabiled vet.

Welcome to DF
Check the pin connections at the PCM. Make sure all the wires are locked into position. If the are not, it will cause a no start or other codes that you are having.

Since unplugging and plugging back in the fuel pump relay caused it to start, I would look to that as a clue. Your problem might not be a bad ECM, just a bad connection at the FP relay.

Might even be a bad fuel pump relay itself.

I have been having a similar issue, runs fine then bam wont power up the pump, I saw a 4x4 post from 2006 where the guy bypassed a wire from the relay back, is this common? My problem is a dreaded intermittent issue!

Ive been tracing mine. The wire coming out of the pcm is c19 This wire is supposed to ground the relay to activate. From what i can tell it have to be a ground problem with the pcm or the pcm itself
