Default Dodge 2000 b1500 Ramvan blower control

The heater/air blower control on the dash only works in the high mode. I've changed the switch but did not fix the problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

It might be the control module in the actual blower motor. Just a thought don't really know for sure.

There is probably a blower motor resistor in the circuit. On low or medium, the current runs through various resistors. On high, the resistor is bypassed. Therefore it will run on high even if the resistor is burned out. This is the case in most modern vehicles. I had to replace this on my other vehicle (an F-150) with the exact same symptom. It was under the dash and cost $15.

Thanks! I've read that there is a resistor also, but now I need to find out what it looks like. I've also read that the connector may be coroded.

The connector is probably corroded, its located under the hood (hard to tell from the previous post) on the passenger side of the vehicle. Its mounted to the heater box, small black piece held in with two screws and has a 4 or 5 wire connector sticking out of the middle of it. Unplug it to see if it is corroded, if so you will have to replace the connector and the resistor.

Thanks, nice illustration, it was easy to spot, right out front. I purchased the resistor at the dodge dealer for $23.00 and it fixed the problem.

I really appreciate the assistance, rob

I didn't see any corrosion on the male end of the connector so I replaced the resistor assy. for $23.00 and it fixed my problem. Checking for corrosion was a very good place to start though.

Thanks for you help with this matter, rob
