Speedo and such get their cue from the VSS on the rear diff. If changing the sensor didn't fix it, check the wiring.

Thanks HeyYou. I'll do some digging to see if its could be wiring.

BTW, I bought a transmission speed sensor (just in case) at AutoZone and it's NOT what I circled in the above image.

PCM uses the output speed sensor (the speed sensor on the trans) to help it decide how to control shift points. Doesn't do anything for the speedo, but, it *might* be somehow used with the ABS. Not sure on that. But, if the trans is shifting good, (at least, when the speedo actually worked properly...) I wouldn't bother replacing that one.

The trans is shifting good but have no speedo, no odo, Brake and ABS lights on. I did notice that the CEL has not come back on after putting in the new VSS so I'm not sure if that means anything yet or not.

Will do a more detailed inspection of the wiring and check fuses and relays.

If you have a scanner, see if you can get a reading on vehicle speed..... My guess would be.... No.....

Already tried to get a speed reading via my scan tool and got nothing. Coolant temp, RPM, etc all working fine.

So either a bad sensor, or bad wiring. See if you are getting 5 volts back to the sensor on the rear diff, with key on. (engine does not have to be running.)

Sorry but I believe that to be incorrect, the sensor on the differential is for the anti-lock brake system. The one on the tranny (VSS) controls the speedometer, the cruise, and the shift points (for electronic shift transmissions.)

From the 2001 Dodge Ram (truck) service manual:

Vehicle speed and distance covered are measured by
the Rear Wheel Speed Sensor.

I would expect the vans work the same way.
