So either a bad sensor, or bad wiring. See if you are getting 5 volts back to the sensor on the rear diff, with key on. (engine does not have to be running.)
I just checked the wiring to the diff sensor for the 5V and I got nothing. Ignition was on but motor was not running.
Also, I don't see any evidence of a speed sensor in the trans. Here's a pic of the drivers side.
Is there a speedo fuse or relay I should check? I looked but don't see one under the hood or on the drivers side of the dash. What am I missing.... before checking the wiring.
No fuses on that circuit. Just the main one for the cluster as a whole. (if there even is one for that.) If anything on the cluster works, it's getting power.
Wiring looks good from my quick inspection. PCM? How do I verify if the PCM is getting a signal from the diff? Considering I'm not getting a signal at the connector I'd think the PCM is suspect.
