Shimmey Revisited
You might try feeding the engine some seafoam..... just to clean things up internally a bit. Or, run a higher grade of gasoline for a while. See if that makes any difference.
What brand O2 sensor did you install? Did you reset the pcm after doing all the work? (just disconnect the battery for 30 minutes or so.)

What is weird is after the new ig. wires went in (last tune up part) I could barely feel the shimmey but it was slightly there. A few days and couple hundred miles later and it's back all the way like before tuneup- like before only accelerating uphill between like 40 to 50 unless I gun the engine and the tranny kicks down in which case all is smooth.
I'll do as you suggest and see what happens. If it stays the same I'll prob. throw a coil in.
Thanks once again.
And would that be Seafoam in the gas, oil or spray? Never used it before but my ignition system was in horrible shape- white powder and corrosion dist. cap and rotor, coroded plugs gapped at .080 instead of service manual .035 and PCV valve totally plugged in one direction. I can imagine there is residue built up.
I dont think I need to do the spray in the intake but the "smoakey" videos I watched of it reminded me of my nabor pouring kerosene in his carb when his engine ran ruff.
Thanks for all your help
And I did enjoy it- for a while but it's back, please bear with me here.
As I've done the work advised- the replacement of he ignition system, front O2 sensor and Sea Foam top end and gas the drive definitely would smooth out. But then slowly it would creep back in. I originally felt this shimmey come on gradually over many months and now wonder if I have an underlying problem that has been getting worse all along but the stuff I have done- all needed for sure- has improved performance masking this other problem until it gets even worse.
I drove through some real hills recently that brought back memories of driving through real mountains 10K miles ago with what turned out to be a bad cat. converter (CC). That got so bad I would lose all power trying to get up any grade and was towed to s shop. A new CC fixed everything but the mechanic said something strange apologizing for the $300 cost but saying that wasn't all that bad even if I had to do it once a year??? Made me think this was going to happen again.
These recent big hills- if I go into the grade fast like 75 (speed limit is 70) I can pretty much retain most of that and push over the crest at like 60. But if I hit the base at only 60 no matter how much gas I give it it won't kick down gear and I lose power/speed to like 40 or even slower by the time I get to the top.
I get no codes saying so (and didn't before) but does this possibly sound like the CC. It wasn't replaced long ago but my dist. cap and plugs recently replaced were in truly horrible condition- could that lead to early CC failure?
thanks for your time.

What year/engine? If you have the V-8 gas motor, and the kegger intake, has the plenum gasket been addressed? Are you having mystery oil consumption issues? Get any blue smoke at startup?
i'm pretty sure your information addressed The cause.

I would check the plenum gasket then. (just look down the throttle bores, with throttle wide open, engine NOT running....
) See if there is oil down there. If there is, that makes for a pretty significant vacuum leak, which leads to munched up cat converters. It's a job you can do at home, with basic hand tools, or, you can pay someone else to deal with, if you prefer.
