Default Maintenance Req'd Light

On my '89 Dodge B150 van, there are 2 lights: Check Engine & Maintenance Req'd. The check engine light is for the real trouble codes from the Single Module Engine Controller (SMEC - pre OBD-II). The Maintenance Req'd Light comes on at specific mileage intervals, according to factory shop manual. I can't get my Maintenance Req'd light to shut off. Disconnect battery, it comes right back on. There are no fault codes (checked by cycling key on/off 3X method). It's exempt from emissions (>25 yrs old - OH). How do you get the light to go off (& don't say pull the bulb!). THX

Think you need a DRB-II scan tool to reset the lite.

Yes the DRB-II scan tool will do it, but any scan toll that has a clear codes function should also clear the Maintenance light.
