Quick update. I managed to get the hose off and install the new one fixed that leak however looks like I have another leak now at the bottom of the water pump gasket. I dont understand why its leaking though. I installed the gasket that came with the water pump and made sure all the bolts were tight I didnt use any water pump and thermostat sealer because I didnt think I had to.

Put sealer on the water pump bolt threads one at a time.

You don't 'have to' but it's still a good idea. You don't need a lot, I like to put on a thin coating in case there are any slight gaps that formed over time. Plus the sealer I use allows the gaskets to peel off instead of having to be scraped off should I have to disassemble it again in the future. For the bolts, as previously mentioned, some of the bolts screw into the water jackets on the block, so it's possible for coolant to leak past the threads and cause a drip at the head of those bolts.
