Go to YouTube and look at PCM replacement videos. They will show how to have the PCM relearn or whatever it has to do and what you need to do when replacing a PCM. Did you disconnect the battery and still fried the PCM?

  • P0601 – Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error

Try to reset the PCM. (disconnect the battery for 30 minutes) Reconnect it and turn the key to On, (not start) and wait while you count to ten and then start the engine. Let the PCM relearn idle. If everything is working properly, it should reset and the care will run properly.

If the PCM needs reprogrammed you would probably need to take it to a dealer and have them do it because you need a scan tool and latest downloads.

It wouldn't be too expensive to have a dodge dealer reprogram the PCM. Maybe $80 to $150.
Just skip down to cost of reprogramming section.

I'm fairly certain there is no programming to be done on these except for a start up and driving cycle.

03 is going to want the VIN the PCM has, to match what the other modules have, else things don't work. Mainly ABS, and SRS.

Oh wow ok, good to know.

My understanding is that there were only 3 sp/ 4 sp trans and fed/CA emission variables.

Guess I'm wrong - you're an asset to these forums.

Again, thank you.
