Default Tempature Control Cable

I have a 1997 B3500 conversion van and the Temperature control cable will not push the heater door open it bends before going through the cable tube. I have searched for a part number everywhere I can think of and or google but to no advale. Can someone please help me with the number.
Thanks

Part number is, I think, 55055508. However, I can't find one anywhere...... Discontinued, or out of stock. Is the temp (blend) door stuck?

No the door works fine but the cable bends before going into the tube right behind the selector. To change the heat I have to pull over and work the door by hand.

Try Car-Part.com. They might be able to find one for ya. And shipping on it wouldn't be bad either.

No problem with the lever the cable got bent at some point now it always wants to bend instead of operating the blending door.

My 1989 B250 had the same problem. I ended u breaking the cable. My fix was to remove the cable, so I could match the wire gauge inside the cable. I replaced it with a generic choke cable from a auto parts store. If the cable is a little long that is ok, just not to short. Bend the wire at the end of the cable to match the original. Reinstall. Mine now works flawlessly.

Now THAT is a GREAT idea. I never would have thought of that. Thank You.

So you used the original casing? I'm off to buy some cable.
