Default 1995 Ram van B2500 transmission compatibility

Hi everybody!
My lovely 1995 b2500 eventually stopped on a highway having transmission issues. It doesnt move at all, transmission fluid is leveled, grey and smells burnt. Transmission also is making whining noise so I assume I need a replacement.
New or rebuilt is prohibitively expensive so my only option is a junkyard transmission.
Hence the question: What is comparable transmission I can use?
I believe I have 36rh 3 speed. There is a V6 1996 Ram Van on a yard - will it fit?(google says irs 32RH in it). Also there are plenty of Dakotas and pick up trucks - can those transmission be used in a van?
I googled several hours yesterday evening but i cannot find any info abour wagons

A 95 with a three speed?? Hhhhmmm...... I thought they all had the overdrive trans.... Well, not like I haven't been wrong before.

Any 36RH 95 and older should work. Doesn't matter what it comes out of. Bear in mind though, trans out of a 4x4 will NOT work.

All V6 engines have a 3 speed tranny along with an occasional although more rare V8 setup. The OD was probably too much gear for the V6 to handle.

The 36 will take more power, and survive. With the 5.2, I think that's what *should* be in there, and definitely what I would be looking for.

Junk Yard? Have a trans shop rebuild yours? Or, if you have someplace to work on it, rebuild it yourself?

I looked on car-part.com and found several V8 3sp trannies setups. You might have to drive 100 miles to go get it, but at least it will bolt right up.
