Question Dome light issue

1998 B1500, dome lights not working when opening drivers door. They all work when I open the passenger side doors and rear door. I am thinking door jamb switch but I can't locate one on the front door jambs. Where are they located? My van is a conversion van, if that makes any difference

I looked in my 1998 Dodge van factory shop manual and it does not show it as part of the door latch, nor shows locations of the front door jamb switches.I can look again in the morning to see if I can find them

On a 98, it is absolutely part of the door latch. This is the pic of the latch. I previously posted the wrong pic (cargo door latch).

So, will need a replacement latch? I looked on ebay I did not find any aftermarket front door latches. Guess I will have to look in salvage yards for one
Maybe I can luck out, and have a loose/broken wire

Before you go that route, you'd probably want to unplug your existing one and test the wires to see if they activate the domelight. And maybe you'll find the problem while you're in there.

Might be as simple as just pulling it, giving it a good cleaning.....
