Missing Linkage on Blend / Recirculation Door
Hi all,
Working on a 2000 Dodge Ram Van 1500 with the 5.2L V8.
I found an electric motor under the dash on the passenger side behind the glove box. It doesn't seem to be attached to anything. The white plastic arm moves when I turn the temperature control **** from hot to cold. And there's a disconnected metal rod nearby which runs through the firewall to the AC/Heat box under the hood. When I push this rod in, I get heat. When I pull it out, I get cold air (this might be reversed, sorry). Either way, I'm guessing the motor is supposed to push/pull that rod in and out.
Has anyone got a photo of what the linkage between the motor and rod is supposed to look like? Looks like one could do it with duct tape, but as I've got it open, I'd like to do it right.
And is this the blend door or the recirculation door that I'm moving?
Thank you!

The part you need is: Clip 4885297AA but it is discontinued. FWIW, it is #16 on the diagram shown here:

Thanks MK - that's a pretty cool offer! Not sure I'm savvy enough to design anything in CAD, but worth a couple hours this weekend. If not, I'm thinking two zip-ties might be in my future.

Yeah, for freeware I've used Tinkercad online, but it is less than an intuitive software...
