I am a DIY; About 2 years ago, went to pay my respects ( Memorial Day ) for two friends at the VA Cemetery in Boulder City, NV.
The trip was fine the Dodge Ram Van 2500 with a 3.9L V6 magnum engine did good. Park the van and WALLA a pool of transmission oil came out very quick.
parked for two years in my garage, missed my fishing van/camper. Question: Do I need to tighten the Front Band to hold the front clutch in place, before removing the oil pump from the transmission ?

I don't have a direct answer for ya, but, there are full-sized truck service manuals available here, that *should* answer your question.

 

you can it wouldnt hurt. the pump will come out with just holding down on center shaft but does take some force to get it out of case

 

Did it come out by the converter? May just be the seal. No need to pull the pump out to replace that.

 

oil pump is done, fixed.

 

Hi, need a bolt cross pattern for the 3.9L 6 cylinder oil pan .
