Default Acid Rain all over my windows

Gooood, this is aggrivating. I had Acid Rain spots everywhere, but I got it all off my paint for the most part, but NONE whatsoever has come off the windows (the only thing I did to the paint to get it off was polish, and more polish).. What can I use to get the spots off of my windows? It's all over the sides and back.. IT SUCKS! Thanks..

Are you sure it's acid rain? It could be mineral deposits from the rain.

First try straight vinegar. Put it in a spray bottle, mist the window and let is sit for
a minute. Don't let it drip down on to the plastic. Put some rags on the bottom.
Try several applications wiping inbetween each and after letting it sit.

If that doesn't work, you can try one of two things. One is contact cement cleaner. Try it in a inconspicus area first to make sure it doesnt fog the glass. That stuff removes anything.

Lastly, One Grand makes glass polish. You can get it here:

It looks like it's on back order right now but call them for availability and any other suggestions. They are very helpful

I you have a one sided extremely sharp razor blade. Just take that and spray the window with vinegar and scrape down...that should do it. I used a razor blade to clean my winows all the time. it works

GETTTERDONE!!!!

I tried the Vinegar idea... it didn't bring NOTHING off of it. I even tried spraying Vinegar, then letting it sit, then using a BRAND NEW SHARP RAZOR and it still didn't take ANY of it off. So I've tried Windex, Alcohol, Baking Soda, Vinegar.. Any other ideas or anything?

I thought you said the dealer was going to acid wash the spots off for you.

If you go to the "EXTERIOR" forum, theres a good article under "Autopia Detailing guide" on cleaning with clay. It says it works good on glass too.

I had a very similar problem, I thought that I was actually going to replace a windscreen. Like you I tried everything, then I was told about an off the shelf product from "Rain X" it is there deep cleaning compound. It is actually toothpaste. It worked a miracle for me, unbelievable results. I'm 99% positive this will work for you. If you need a picture of the product let me know.

I thought Rain X was for spraying on your front windshield so you don't have to use windshild wipers???

Rain-X makes a wide variety of water and soil-repelling solutions for glass, paint, and marine applications - the wipe-on stuff your thinking of is probably their most well known product. I suspect Bulldog is referring to the 'Rain-X Glass Polish' offering that supposedly makes removing tar, oil and mineral deposits a snap. I haven't ever used it myself but it's widely available at retail outlets. I'd be curious to know if it works for this application.

In fact you can read about it here:

Rain-X Glass Polisher

At the bottom of the page - there is a picture of the bottle/package it comes in as well.
