I'm interested in searching for a new powermax 3500 prices and packages. I went to the doges-dot-com site but that thing either doesn't work or is so awkward and unfriendly I can't get any info from it about engines and options I might want to order. I hate to usea four letter work here but the Ford site is immediate and very user friendly. Any place where I can locate a similar site without having dealers call me?

Try kelly blue bookwww.kbb.com . Under"new car pricing" you can select the options you want and it will give you the sticker price and the invoice price.

Ok - went over there but still can't decypher the codes and options like mirrors or tow package or GVRW. Darn, The FMC page is so user friendly but right now I have a hardon for Ford and am looking at the dodge. I guess a trip to the dealer is my only option

Another good place to try is IntelliChoice.com. It has a fairly straightforward user interface.

Lot's of luck on finding a dealer that knows the front bumper from the back one. If they are anything like the ones that I just got through dealing with in buying my new 1500 Hemi, you had better know what you are looking for yourself. I got different answers for the same question at almost every dealer I went to.</P>
Go to the dealer and read the stickers on several different trucks, learn the different packages and what they include, read the literature, and educate yourself. Otherwise you won't know if they are giving you the straight of it or not. Just for an example, I had one dealer tell me that the towing mirrors were not available on the 1500, and that was right after I had left one across town that had about 5 trucks with the mirrors on them. To tell you about the horror stories I have ran into would take too much space.</P>
Mayvbe you will find one that actually knows what they are selling, perhaps my experience was not the norm, but this was the third Dodge truck that I have bought, visiting dealers in two cities, in three different states, and I have only found one dealer that knew a little about what they were selling. My advice, find a way to educate yourself, especially about the pricing.</P>
BTW, they claim their web site is an award winning site, don't ask me who gave the award, personally I think it stinks. You have to really study it in order to finally be able to build a price. You can get the prices of the different options, and when you see the options on the truck at the dealer you should know about what the invoice price should be. Again, nothing will substitute for educating yourself, I wouldn't trust what any dealer told me after my experiences.</P><edited><editID>Palm</editID><editDate>37994.8937962963</editDate></edited>

yeah - that's sort of my feeling. It's almost as if the Company wants to pay lip service to the public about the sitejust to be PC in teh age of online buyers, but has had the secretary pool make the "Award". </P>
Doesn't look as if Dodge is very user friendly - thanks for your comment</P>
I tried that IntelChoice site too. That didn't work past the initial vehicle selection. When I had to sleect a "package" all I got were error messages. No infor about what the package included or how much it cost or even what options were available.</P>
In the age of Pentium 4M processors and home buying online systems that are made by competent people I'm surprised Dodge has such a shabby system. I'm having a hard time with Ford right now but I have zero tolerance for an outfit that makes it tough for me to walk intothe online store with a handfull of cash and buy anything. Think I'll check out what Chevy has to offer....<IMG src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0"></P><edited><editID>renaissance man</editID><editDate>37995.3619907407</editDate></edited>

Hi Renaissance Man.
Most, if not all of the sites listed here work perfectly on my PC using
both Netscape and Internet Explorer. Could it be that you have
some pop-up blocker software that's gone awry? Are you using
WebTV or AOL? Any personal firewall software running?
Dunno your answer per-se, but dodge.com, kbb.com, and IntelliChoice.com
all let me see details on all the option codes, including
descriptions. They all use JavaScript and pop-ups, so if either
are blocked on your PC, the sites won't work.

I attended an auto show recently in my area. At that show Dodge had an huge display of truck and cars. One of the men that was there to speak with the public about their vehicles, was very knowledgable. I learned about everything I needed to know about the truck that I was considering. The things that came up afterward were the things that no dealer could answer.</P>
I told the gentleman at the show that it was too bad that dealers, or someone, didn't make an effort to educate their people as it just might make their sales results look a little better. Of course, I knew he didn't have any control over that. What really chaps me is the fact that they will give you an answer to a question, seemingly whether they have a clue if it is the correct one or not. It's like saying "I don't know, but I'll find out for you" is not in their vocabulary. </P>
I was able to get a lot out of the Dodge website, but I don't think it is veryuser friendly. If I had not been familiar with the options of the vehicle before I used it, I don't believe I could have used it as well as I did. There has just got to be a simpler way. Kinda reminds me of Microsoft's help sites. But, then, maybe everyone is not as simple minded as I am, I always have to remember that.</P>
