I HAVE A 03 1500 4.7 WITH THE 20'S I HAVE A REAL HEAVY FOOT AND IM GETTING 13.3 IN TOWN DONT KNOW ABOUT HIWAY HAVEN'T WENT ON A TRIP YET AND I HAVE 3000 MILES HOPE THIS GIVES YOU SOME INSITE GOOD LUCK
I have a 00 360 4x4 that is down in the 10 mpg range... which of course is unacceptable (sucks). I definately plan to find a fix for this... (I think I can make it better) if there's a will, theres... well you know the rest.

I have another ride that has some performance parts and s/w on it that required 93 octane fuel to run right and since we don't have93 octanehere in CA I had to find a way to make it work. The quick fix was to mix racing fuel with pump gas... not very cost effective or convenient, so I had to find a way to make it work on pump gas... I put in place a few additions to the fuel system and now get the best performance & fuel economy (yeah right, not with my foot mashed to the floor all the time) with the current upgrades.

Sooo, this is my next challenge... I will keep you posted...

I've got a 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4.7L with the 20's and I average 14.5 - 15 mpg in the city and I live in Houston, TX and took a trip to Dallas (~250 miles one way) and averaged 18.8 - 19 mpg on the highway. I have just a little under 4000 miles on the odometer.
I'm averaging about the same Mcrich.I have the 4.7 litre engine with the 3:92 axle and I get about 250 to 280miles per tank of gas.I've heard some people say their getting like 14 miles to the gallon in the hemi???How could that be it's a bigger engine!Had I known the hemi got better gas mileage then the 4.7 litre I would have bought a hemi!

I have an 03 ram 1500 4X4 with the hemi. I have 20k miles on it and when I first got it I was only getting 12.9 miles per gallon. I added a tuenno cover and Mobile 1 and started getting better mileage with more miles traveled. I now am getting 15.6 miles per gallon and on a trip to Ohio travelling the turnpike averaged 17.8 mile per gallon. My ram has 3.92 gears.

I have a friend with a Dakota 4.7 4X4 that has 35k and the best he gets is 13.2 miles per gallon

mine also has 20's... lately with the cold i let it run for about 10 minutes in the morning before leaving.. i realize this will affect the reading..... but i just filled up yesterday... and with only 90 miles traveled i was getting only7 mpg.... i have checked everything i can think of..... tire pressure, air cleaner, brakes releasing fully... this mileage was just basically city driving.. and not with my foot in it.......not burning any oil either...i'm puzzled.. and i also have a friend with a hemi. less than 2,000 miles.... he's getting about13 all around......currently i'm aming myself with all the info i can get.. so i can go after dodge somehow.... i mean sticker said 11-17 when i got it...... and i've NEVER seen anything more than 13.8.... on an all highway trip.. ridiculous..
