Does anyone think that the reason that the "mod" doesn't work on the 04 is because the transmission is different? A guy I work with has an 03 w/a 5speed tranny and I have an 04 w/a 6speed tranny. Thoughts anyone?
how do you have a 6-speed?
I didn't even now that was an option for the Hemi! I know there is a mercedes 6-speed transmision.

I read about it in a magazine somewhere. I know this doesn't mean that I have an actual 6 speed transmission but I will look into it further. I wanted to get the window sticker from the dealer telling all that the vehicle has on it but the dealer said they couldn't find it. Anyway, what I read in the magazine was that the transmission has 2 second gears. One for upshifting and one for kickdown. The kickdown gear was a lower ratio. I know they put these in the new durango and I thought I had one in my truck which is the reason I stated that I had one. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you all on this subject. Weather is getting real nice and I take advantage of riding the busa every chance I get. So, with all being said, the only question I have is, Does the 04 benefit from pulling a "wire" from the computer or not?

I just checked the Dodge build your truck website and a 6 speed isn't even listed. Sorry for misleading anyone. I stand corrected.

Actually, Mississippi, you do have a 6-speed. So do all the 03 Hemi 1500 trucks. The trannys are the same in 03 and 04, and have 5 forward gears, but there are two 2nd gears, one for upshift and one for down-shift. So, while there are technically 6 different gears, it only go through 5 on the way to cruising speed. Therefore, it is really a 5 speed.

Dodgegirl19,

I just bought a 2003 crew cab with a HEMI. I am satisfied with the performance, but of course would like a little extra! Especially if it is a "free" mod by just pulling one wire. My question is, what does this do for performance; mpg, idiot light, tranny life, and other overall pros and cons?
I want to do it, but am hesitant because I don't know enough on the subject.

thanks,

cdover73
