Default TMR Explained...

Posting This As A New Thread Since It's Sure To Be A Hot Topic...

Okay are you HEMI guys ready... I'm about to give you a back door to what will make you truck faster... TMR is...

Long Story > > >
There are two speed sensors in the trans, one on the input shaft and one on the output shaft. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors these speed sensors along with the throttle position sensor, accelerator position sensor, vehicle speed sensor and a few others. When the TCM sees wide open throttle and the truck is at a low speed, the TCM sends a "Torque Management Request" (TMR) signal to the PCM. The PCM sends back to the TCM a "Torque Management Requst Confirm" signal. This is when the PCM detunes our Hemi's. There is probably a profile under this TMR signal that retards timing, fuel etc. in relation to vehicle speed, throttle position, accelerator position etc.

Short Strory > > >
Pull the #7 (yellow with dark green stripe) wire on the 4th plug down on the ECM on the firewall. It makes the truck shift harder at WOT but you lose some traction control in the rain.

Those who have tried this have RAVED about the extra power in their Hemi!!

One thing though... put it back to stock setup BEFORE taking it to the dealer for ANY reason.

It will NOT work on a 04. The 04's do not have seperate TCM's and PCM's.

Amanda, I have seen word of this in other Durango and Dakota forums. Will it work for any other engine? Are there ANY negative effects on the transmission?
