Default rear diff question

I have an 04 HEMI QC 4x2 1500. It's got just about everything I want except the limited slip rear diff, so I want to know if anyone has gotten an aftermarket limited slip or locking diff. This is a street truck, so I don't want an air-locker or anything like that. Got my Jeep XJ for the offroad stuff

Can someone please let me know which axle these HEMI Ram 1500's have so I can also search the internet by axle?

Thanks

You probably have a 3.92 ratio in your current rear end. But to confirm that need to look at the orginal window sticker and see if it has code DMD=3.55 or DMH=3.92. Check on the tag on the 'pumpkin' will have the code there, too.

There is a factory option to put a limited slip 3.55 ratio. May need to reprogram speedometer, etc.

I know it is in fact a 3.92. I don't want to change the gearing, just get a new diff like a POWERTRAX or something that will eliminate the one-tire-fryer issue.

With my axle question, I was hoping to find out which specific axle these trucks come with such as a DANA 60?

Again, VIN means everything. With that you can tell damn near who built the truck.

I'm trying to determine if my truck has the limited slip (TRAK LOCK) differential. I crawled under the truck and a white label on the rear axle drivers side says "3.55 4x2 STD open 9.25"
The VIP Dodge dealer Summary Report says I have the option called "Axle-Rear, Corporat 9.25 LD".
Here is my VIN: edited vin out Thanks Bill 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 4x2 SLT/Quad Cab/Short Bed 5.9L gas

Your truck does not have the LSD rearend. It's an open rear.

3.55 4x2 STD open 9.25
3.55 is the gear
4x2 is that it was intended for a 4x2 truck
STD open means a standard differential
9.25 is the axle
