Default I got some bad luck goin...

Alright, so I went out today and tried to install my flowmaster 40, it turns out that after I cut the tailpipe connectors, since I couldnt get them out, I couldn't get my muffler off. I called up my friend whose big into cars and he said that Chrysler uses some kind of glue between the pipes to hold them together and you need a machanic to take it off, hell I believe him because I couldn't get that thing off.

Tomorrow I'm going to my local shop to see what they can do for me.

Mike.

No, there is no "glue". It is "crushed" from the clamp, you need to heat the pipes glowing red and they will seperate fairly easily.

ill have pics of my exhuast dump soon...
i also installed a magnaflow hi flow cat, it's pretty nice,
after the cat i have 4 ft of 3inch pipe going into a 3inch 40 series with nothing on the back
of the muffler... the tone is deep, very deep, everyone thinks it sounds great, not too 'raspy'
no popping or krackling of any sort... its nice, i like.

On the subject of bad luck, the tree in front of my house came down in a storm. Spent all day cleaning it up and then decided to do the first oil change on my brand new HEMI QC Laramie. I nosed it into the garage and draped a towel over the front of the hood as it rested against the garage door.
Not one minute goes by and my wife pulls up and hits the garage door opener button. The door comes down and puts a 4" long, 1/2" deep gouge right down the center of my truck's hood and nearly tore off the air deflector.
I'm about ready to PUKE!

I thought I might be able to push it back out, but it's right over the hood cross brace, so you can't even reach it from the inside.

I'm just so mad I can't even tell you. Truck just turned 1000 miles and I got the license plate the same day.

I had mine apart a few weeks back and I just cut the the pipe with a sawzall & opened it up so it would slide off. I then went to the autoparts store to get a union to put it back together with new clamps. Sawzalls are great!!!

Ha, thats what I was about to do but then I stopped myself before it was too late. That way I only had to wire the tailpipe to the frame not the whole catback.

Amen to the sawzall. lol
