If it's leaking, either there's too much coolant in the system, or something is causing the coolant to overheat enough to cause expansion. Sounds like all the dealer did was put a bandaid on the problem. Did they check to make sure the thermostat was opening at the proper temperature? I think a coolant flush might be necessary. It's possible there's some small obstruction in the system.

the coolant is right where it is supposed to be. the truck did heat up passed 220 once took it to dealer they ran the engine for a time a/c on and put it in gear, nothing happend. like i said when i drive for a good while and then check the resavoir there is always a wet spot. sometimes alot sometimes a little bit.

Mine does that too. The level looks good but after a week of driving you can see where it has boiled over out of the expansion bottle down the fan shroud. I wipe it off and a few days later it's back[:@]
Also, The top seam of the bottle has red coolant residue all over it. Bad bottle?

Mine does the same thing...and still does even AFTER they replaced it. I'm thinking to tell them to switch it to the 03 coolant system, where the radiator cap is on TOP Of the resivior tank

I've got a 04 1500 reg cab 2wd 4.7 auto and mine does it too. I had it a Rockwall Dodge and they replaced the coolant tank and radiator cap and it still does it. It never overheats or anything, it just puddles up on top of the tank.
The service manager said he was going to call Dodge and to bring it back when he could have it all day to do some tests but I don't think it is going to do any good.
