I dyno'd my truck (04 HEMI)

RE: I dyno'd my truck (04 HEMI)
When I did mine it was around 75* that day. I'm curious to see how you do with the mods. you have done. I'm skeptical of some of this stuff, but open to new test data. Superchips is supposed to have an 04 programmer by the end of the year they said. Let us know how it goes.

What? In what way are they overrated?
Just goes to prove how over-rated Hemi's are.

Well, all I can say is look at the numbers. That 272 RWHP is more than the chevy is at the crank. I don't know your friend with the hemi ram, but if it's running that bad he needs to give up racing or find out what's wrong with his truck, if everything is as you say. It just doesn't make sense otherwise.
Hope you enjoy your next truck.[sm=smiley2.gif]

Well lets see, my truck makes like 245hp so they say, which is a lot less then a Hemi, but yet, a Hemi isn't hardly faster or seem more powerful then my gas hog 5.9 is. So yep, I say its over-rated and say there's no way they are pushing the numbers they say they are. I have a friend with a standard cab 4x4 hemi, and a buddy with a '96 Z71 with a Vortec 350 (rated at 250hp). The Ram can't touch his Z71 in a drag race, with both stock, and the Z71 being an extended cab truck at that. So, as you can guess, I am not impressed with the Hemi at all. My next truck will not be a Dodge either.

plus, the Z71 may have more race-friendly tranny gearing...steeper diff. gears, different powerband, thus allowing it to be better in a drag racing format. also, does your buddy's hemi have 20s? and the Z71 ,i think, comes with 17s stock...which would also cater to a drag racing advantage.

He has upgraded to what size tire? That size can't be right. But if the aspect ratio, the middle number, is smaller then he has shorter tire. This would make the trcuk accelerate like it had a lower gear.

no tire company in the world makes a 25 series tire, that i know of..and i used to make a living selling tires. the lowest is EVER seen was a 315-35-20.
265/75/16's are about 31.5 inches tall...
285/25/16's would be about 21.61 inches tall, which, if they exist, would give the chevy a MASSIVE advantage.
figures for the tire sizes..before anyone else argues with me..
{(265x0.75)/25.4}x2=15.64+16=31.64
{(285x0.25)/25.4}x2=5.61+16=21.61
now, THATS what i call low-pros.

I would have to say racer rob, there is something wrong with your ram and your friends hemi. I had a 96 indy with headers, MPM, pullies, ram air hood and used to smoke my friends z71. Actually two different friends had them, 98 and 01. Smoked both. And both my 04 Hemis walked away from my 96. My rumble bee walks all over those new vortec SS chevys also.
