Replacing Oil Fill Tube on 2007 Dodge Sprinter Mercedes
Help,
I had to have the fuel pump and all fuel injectors replaced on my 2008 Itasca Navion RV which has a Mercedes engine. This was done at a Dodge Dealership in Fairbanks, AK. A few days later driving down the Alaska Hiway I noticed a oil leak coming from the top left part of the motor. I was told at a truck stop in GA that the oil fill tube was broken so I ordered another one. I want to replace the tube without going back to a dealership and having to pay again for a simple fix. Any suggestions on how to replace the fill tube? Thanks

Oil fill tube, short 6-7" pipe with removable cap. Use an 8 mm 12 socket or even better an 8 mm ratcheting box end wrench from gear wrench (brand) and remove 1 bolt holding the tube to a metal bracket just below the cap. Twist entire tube counter clockwise 120* lift up and out. Install in reverse, do not over tighten the bolt as it is usually 1-2 mm short from going thru the welded on nut on the bracket. It should be like 48-60 in/lbs. So not tight at all.
