would a 3.0 stealth win against a 1st gen. neon?

Mustang and Camaro N/A 5.0 L V-8's in 1991 were lucky to break the 250 HP barrier according to Edmunds.com and they have 2 more liters or about 122 more cubic inches. The Subaru WRX STi has a 2.5 L turbocharged 4 cyl rated at 300 HP which is only proof that bigger turbos produce more power.

Let me get this out of the way.....stealth tts are fast.....so if you think that they arent that impressive shut up. YOU CANT compare a new age STI with a stealth that was made in 91.....you just cant do it. Lightly mod a stealth and see who wins...plus like we said they have been out of production for 11 years...so let it go. Second that neon will not beat that stealth...no way even if its a dohc 2.0 neon it most likely will lose. Keep in mind that the v6 has more low end torque...torque wins races people. Has anyone said if the neon is a sohc or dohc? Either way the stealth is going to win....especially if its a sohc. With the dohc id say it would be close but if the stealth launches good then it will be fine.

wow there sure are alot of touchy people on this post......here is the thing
1: did i ever say the stealth TT int fast.......no
2: i never compared an sti with a 91 stealth.....i just said that it seems that with a v6 and twin turbos that it should have more then 300 hp....and that an sti is then impressive since its only a 4cyl. with a single turbo but the same power....just seems that the stealth should have more power wit hthat motor
3: am i supposed to let sumthing go???? ive made 2 posts on here and none of them were dissing the stealth....
no wonder i dont leave the neon section too often[&:]

...but you seem to fail to realize that technology changes and normally improves. For the time period, 300hp was alot. More than 'Vettes and only about 100 away from Vipers of the same era. Even "Exotics" of the time didn't have much more power than Stealths. With some slight, bolt on modifications, close to 400hp (crank) is very doable.
Don't forget...the STi may be a 4 banger, it is only .5L smaller in displacement.

make up your mind first it will not win no way but it will most likely lose so a dohc neon with 150hp that weighs 2470#vs a 165 stealth that weighs 3086# i think it would be a damm good race and the neon would win
dodge stealths came with sohc in 91 when the car came in to production
