Any mechanics here?
Hello I am the owner of a 1995 dodge stratus. This is the work I recently had done and I was wondering if there is any mechanics in here that could tell me how long it should take to do.
1 upper door hinge
1 lower door hinge
1 ingnition coil
1 sway bar link
1 crankshaft positiong sensor
1 camshaft wiring plug
1 rear outside door handle
1 camshaft sensor
I am wondering what the labour of these jobs should be. Thxs in advance.

well can u brake it down as far what what they charged u?? Because my labor rate at my dealer is 95 an hour
is if u can equate what they chared u money wise and how much there rate is i can figure out what they charged u in mechanics terms of hours.

a dealer at 30 or 40 an hour ahhh i doubt that highly not even out in the middle of no where would some one charge that little 50 ,60 maybe. All of that sounds about right to replace and fix all that stuff u think u got ripped off or something?? remember the car is 12 years old to things break easy.
The mechanic that does my work charges me 30-40 an hour. So being charged that rate per hour and the total labor bill of 700 for those jobs is good or is it high considering he charges me 30-40 an hour? I guess what I'm saying is did he take longer than he should have to do those jobs compared to another mechanic? The mechanic is a Ford transmission specialist.
well lets see 40 an hour devide by 700 is 17.5 hours to do all of that work. The hinges weree they just replacement or repair? was the cam shaft plug the whole wiring from the sensor to the back half of the block where the sensor is I know thats common for them to melt together and the car not start. so if all said yeah u got over charged alittle but then again i was not there i dont know what the car looks like mechanicly what shape it is in or what other little stuff he may have done and not told u. I know i build in some fudge time as well to fix little things like vac line connectors correctly route wires thengs like that.
The door wouldn't close and the wires were indeed melted. So if there was an overcharge, is it significant or not much? Thanks for the help
The price of the hinges was 130 total.

Hey, parts and service manager at a Chrysler dealership in SD. So according to mitchell for the stuff minus the 2 door hinges and "camshaft wiring plug"(not sure where your going with that) to remove and replace is only 3.1 hours. Not sure what all was done to the hinges and that "wiring plug", but it shouldnt have been that much if he's only charging you $30-$40.
with out beeing htere and seeing all what was done its a crap shoot u got all your stuff done for 700 does the car run and work the way u wanted to ??? if so be happy its not more.
I am happy the work is done but the question is did I pay too much and does it really take that long to do those jobs. If it does then I am happy, if it doesn't than I am not happy. Anyway thanks for the reply's.
