Use full Synthetic Oil, change it every 3,000 miles. Every once in a while add a bottle of STP fuel Injector cleaner and Octane booster to your gas to keep the fuel system clean. Keep your tires properly inflated. They make Performance chips but I havent peronally used one so I won't vouch for them. If you can find a performance shop they can do a Dyno tune for you and if you want you can put in performance spark plugs and wires.

Gas mileage comes down to:
1: Getting the most energay out of your gas (Increasing Air Flow and spark energy from your spark plugs etc.)
2: Using good driving habits and good maintenance on your car.

The stratus is a sporty dependable little car to start with so to see any signifigant gains youll need to spend $.

FYI this weekend I drone 248 miles on 8.6 gallons of gas on the highway through traffic on a humid day (It was raining) at Sea level (from Lompac cali to Camp Pendleton. Part of the way was hilly roads. So I made just over 25MPG driving like I drive (basicly as fast as traffic permits up to ten over the speed limit with a couple "high speed runs at WOT through some curvey areas with no traffic for fun)

Using better quality gas helps mileage as well I notice when I fill up at Shell and Chevron I get better mileage then say Circle K (to date the worst gas i've ever experianced.)

im excited for the warmer weather... yesterday it was 50 degrees here and i drove 50 miles w/o my gas gauge moving... i have a K&N filter in there now with my intake 'scoop' taken off... i had speedway gas in there, which SUCKS so i dont know if that filter is going to help much, i should know in a few days once this shell tank is gone.

I think the fuel gage is like that I get about 50 miles before it moves but it seems to drop faster from then on out.

I like this car a lot it's is really reliable gets good mileage and looks nice.

Of course i'll still be buying myself a 05 C6 vette coupe (used) I have some connections and I can throw a blower on for cheap (if my strat was Manual i'd put a turbo setup on)

In theory the tornado will work only at full throttle, creating a vortex, which atomizes the fuel air mixture. When not at full throttle the incoming air, no matter how twisty and swirly it comes in will be stopped when it hits the butterflies on the throttle body, or carburetor. So, unless you plan on running at WOT all of the time, do not, I repeat DO NOT even think about wasting your money on one.

Ok, I did a little Experiment over the last couple of weeks with the intake and the tornado (which I have bought shortly after I bought my 01 R/T new).
1st off, my commute is 100 miles to work mostly all I- 95(one way, I am a firefighter that works 24 hours shifts so it not that bad)
---stock w/tornado and KN AF I was averaging about 23mpg cruising about 80 mph.
---w/o air ram piece w/ tornado I was at 26 cruising about 80 (noticed rpms dropped about 300 to 500, about 2500 rpms at 80mph)
---w/o tornado I am back down to about 24 mpg (rpms about 3k at 80mph)
This was done using the same gas station and cleaning the filter for each step.

I slow down in spots and have to use the back roads to go home and work but that is my cruising speed most of the way
