So a Hennessey Viper that is faster than, brakes better than, handles better than and is cheaper, is not better than the Lingenfelter 'Vette? That I don't agree with.

 

Hennessey is NEVER cheap....and Lingenfelter's setups are indeed "better"

I didnt say the Lingenfelter Corvette was faster....I said it was "better"

And the Hennessey Viper still isnt the fastest Viper......Lingenfelter ran a 9.59 @ 147.22 in a Non-Aspirated Dodge Viper.....which is currently a world record.....

Funny how all that horsepower and turbo's....is playing second fiddle to an all motor car....

How is lingenfelter corvette better it didnt beat hennesseys viper in anything. The total price of hennessey viper was $187,710 compared to lingenfelters zo6 $ 225,860. Hennessey viper was more controllable than lingenfelter zo6. A mustang gt is slower to 100mph than the viper is to 100-200mph.

I sincerely dont know where you come up with 230k for a Lingenfelter Corvette.....

and when I see a Viper throw down a 1.92 0-60 and a 9.29 quarter mile.....then we can talk.... Especially for less then what the Hennessey Viper cost....

 

Hennessey twin turbo upgrade for the gts did 0-60 in 1.83 seconds The 230k came from motor trend. The vette had 1000 horsepower and still was no match for hennesseys viper.

Super car wise, and high speed monster wise... The Hennessey wins... I think it would be the "fastest"...

Derrick, this thing is geared for high speed, not acceleration... I'm sure they could have put down a 1.83 0-60 and low QM time again. But this was not their goal this time around...

Their goal was to do things like winning standing mile competitions and breaking speed records...

The thing you keep forgettting.....and 94rt10ohio hit it on the nose is this.....any MODDED car can be made fast.....and thats all the Hennessey Viper is...a modded car. The same applies to the Calloway Sledgehammer Corvette....

Yeah, the Viper has the top speed....so what? An almost 20 year old Corvette is .4 seconds behind it...and then the Veyron has it a mere 2 mph slower...and that car is a PRODUCTION model....not some aftermarket part addon.




Chase, the Hennesey Viper can be fastest over all...but he changed his original question.....and then changed it to say fastest period, not production car.

There are tons of cars that are not production models that could I'm sure beat the Hennessey Viper....but since most of those cars are run on 1/4 tracks only.....we'll never know....and I wonder how fast the Viper is running a road course.....as it doesnt get the straightaway for pure speed.
