Which would be the Faster Car?
ORIGINAL: Jviper
I know this is not part of this but it deals with the viper. I just read from my Automobile magazine August 2006. The corvette z07 or blue devil is using the 7.0 liter ls7 v8 and increasing displacement and adding a supercharger to it.[&:] That will increase horsepower by 145. Which is the same as the new 2008 viper. (650)
The z07 is expected to come out in 2008 at 100,000. It will be interesting to see how the viper will match up considering it dosent have a supercharger.

As for the new Viper specs....I'll believe it when I see it....because its really hard to see them adding 650hp when they've only added like 100hp to the current V10 in the history of the Viper....and thats what....14 yrs? So...in the course of basically skipping one model year...they go from 505hp to 650hp? I'll wait n see.....
And 94rt10ohio, your argument is completely accurate. You cannot compare a race car, a modded car, and a fresh off the assembly production car. They are different classes. I said it in an earlier post, the comparison should be more of a Lingenfelter, Saleen, Hennessey comparison then a production vs. modded.

The damn 7.0 engine would fall apart if displacement was increased any more. If this car even makes it to production, it will be a smaller supercharged engine, just like the cadillac sts-v, where they had to decrease displacement from 4.6 to 4.4 to accomodate the supercharger so the engine might actually last a little while.

They were running 7.0L V8's in the 60's an 70's.....so it can be done. How else do you explain Lingenfelter's 700+ hp TT Corvette's? Or Camaro's? Exactly......
I am just gonna go a head and appologise for this poll. The only reason why I chose those cars were because I figured they were THE top of the line of what the three were offering. I wasnt looking at after market add ons or anything like that plus I was un aware of what the henessy could really do. I'll be man enough to admit I didnt do my homework on the selection before I made the poll.
That being said for those of you who have not seen it yet I did creat a poll under the Street/Strip that has a set of vehicles that are much easier to compare. The only reason why Im looking into this is because Ive been thinking of placing an order for the SLR McLaren and wanted to see how it stacked up to the to the other top cars out there.
